Hare Krishna

Patron program??? This is a great idea…

Sometimes we may think: “how could I serve Krishna in a practical way in situation that I am in?  It is so difficult, I have a job, and family and so many things to do… and I have no time and… problems… and… ”

So, maybe it is true, that there is not much time, and that you have a job, and a family, and so many responsibilities, it is all true, but the fact is that you could still be connected to Sri Sri Radha Govinda in a nice service mood by becoming one of the patrons.Lord Krishna says Himself that if :

“If you cannot take to this practice, then engage yourself in the cultivation of knowledge. Better than knowledge, however, is meditation, and better than meditation is renunciation of the fruits of action, for by such renunciation one can attain peace of mind.”

We already have around 60 active patrons who make an effort to give some fruits of their activities to Krishna in a way which is suitable for them in  their own situation. So it is very easy, it is enough if you just choose an option for yourself and send us your details with the amount that you wish to offer. So far we have three categories for everyone to choose from. So basically there is an option for:

Bronze – from 25 to 50 euro or sterling a month

Silver– from 51 to 107 euro or sterling a month

Gold– from 108 to 1008 euro or sterling a month

You can find out the details Here

And here are few verses you can meditate a bit more on, just see what Krishna says about such fortunate souls who decide to act in a more devotional frame of mind.

“If you cannot take to this practice, then engage yourself in the cultivation of knowledge. Better than knowledge, however, is meditation, and better than meditation is renunciation of the fruits of action, for by such renunciation one can attain peace of mind.”

“The steadily devoted soul attains unadulterated peace because he offers the result of all activities to Me; whereas a person who is not in union with the Divine, who is greedy for the fruits of his labor, becomes entangled.”

“One who acts in devotional service, renouncing the fruits of his actions, and whose doubts have been destroyed by transcendental knowledge, is situated factually in the self. Thus he is not bound by the reactions of work, O conqueror of riches.”

“O Dhananjaya, keep all abominable activities far distant by devotional service, and in that consciousness surrender unto the Lord. Those who want to enjoy the fruits of their work are misers.”

“It is indeed impossible for an embodied being to give up all activities. But he who renounces the fruits of action is called one who has truly renounced.”

Hare Krishna

If you think of visiting the Hare Krishna temple on the Hare Krishna island, it is a great idea! No better idea for today, and for tomorrow, so please come and learn about the origin of life, you can come and see Krishna and chant the mantra… Probably you may feel a bit shy, not knowing what to expect or how to behave. To make it easier for you, we have a list of tips that may make it all much easier and help you to feel at home, while here. So here you are:

  1. Let us know you are coming by calling 028 6772 15 12 or 028 6772 3878
  2. Leave your shoes at the entrance
  3. After entering the temple room it is proper to bow down before the Lord
  4. It is good to come with something to offer i.e. fruit, rice, dahl, spices (no garlic or onion), honey, sugar, or some money, you can place the offering on the altar’s floor or put your money to the ”offerings” box
  5. One should wear proper clothing if possible, not necessarily dhoti or sari, but something decent that covers the body nicely. Women are advised to cover their hair, breast, and legs, so no mini skirts etc.
  6. Do not speak about anything not related to spiritual life in the temple room, do not raise your voice or exhibit anger, keep meek and humble mood and you will receive the mercy!
  7. Try to keep your children quiet and peaceful, if it is not possible, best to leave the temple room.
  8. Do not forget to visit our prasadam hall, where you can have some prasadam (food offered with love and devotion to Krishna) to feel fully happy. Take something home as well, for your family or friends.
  9. If you are not sure how to pray, just repeat HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE/ HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE, there is no better way to pray!!!
  10. And do not be sad or morose, after all you are a spirit soul, full of joy and bliss and we are here to serve you.
  11. Last but not least, make sure to get one copy of Bhagavad Gita AS IT IS, the book that changes lives of thousands for much much better… It is a real gem on the path of self realization, there has never be a better book to guide one in the matters of spiritual understanding. It has been written 5000 years ago!!! Hasn’t changed a bit, always fresh and vibrant, waiting for you to discover the truth about YOURSELF!!!  Hare Krishna
