"Bhagavad-Gita" versus "The God Delusion"
Out of disappointment with the explanations and descriptions of popular mainstream religions and new-age movements, a large number of intelligent people have turned to science for answers to life's important questions.
This is a clear sign of their good-intelligence and sincerity. No truly intelligent person will accept a non-scientific explanation of any subject that is actually important, and worthy of their interest.
The scientific process involves [1] Observation, [2] Hypothesis, [3] Demonstration
The whole approach should not be clouded by shallow subjective (or sentimental) arguments, and should be reproducible by any other scientist who follows the directions accurately.
This process works very nicely for areas of life which are within the scope of the gross organic senses, with or without the aid of external instruments to expand their very limited "scope".
Unfortunately, there are some scientists who have tried to go beyond the limits of their imperfect senses, and approach subjects that are not within their jurisdiction of inspection, and which they have no faith even exist.
Can you honestly imagine making progress in a subject that you neither believe in, nor are equipped to study.
Truly the mundane material scientists have produced many marvels of technology in the recent past, but a "technician" is not a "scientist" in the real sense of the word. No wise man should employ a "technician" to do the work of a "scientist".
In mainstream education, we are training "technicians" only, there is no facility that trains "scientists". A "technician" does not become a "scientist" by simply speculating in the dark.
So, we have a situation in people's minds where "scientists" have been replaced by "technicians", and this is where the problems start to arise.
Many people today have blindly accepted the "technicians" as their authority and source of truth on matters which are beyond their scope for intellectual and sensual experience.
Such an inexperienced person is the recently emerged Richard Dawkins, who has released the book "The God Delusion".
Although a book with "God" in the title will surely draw attention, and many sales, the arguments given by Dawkins in favour of abandoning belief in God are particularly weak when we have access to the instruments for actually scientifically understanding God.
Self-realization is not just a dry-philosophical, or theoretical exercise.
The process of understanding those matters which are beyond our gross senses is explained completely in the epic Bhagavad-Gita.
We have pasted the Introduction here:
